One question people always ask me is: "How is the real estate market?"
I'm sure you've asked an agent before and heard a canned response in return: "It's going great!" and "Never been better!"
Some people ask these questions because there was a news report talking about sales being up or down for the quarter, or maybe they saw a story about how prices are out of control in this area or another. And of course, HGTV shows shape a lot of what the general public knows about real estate. One issue with following national news reports is that they tend to paint with a broad brush (positively or negatively) and don't get into what segments of the market are performing well and which ones are underperforming. Is the market doing well in your area, and if so, why?
Let's say you live in Raleigh, North Carolina. While it's good to stay informed about the national real estate market (the events leading to '08 taught us that), home values in North Carolina may vary from those in Colorado. And Raleigh home values will differ than those in Asheville, Charlotte, and Wilmington. Even your friend's house in a different subdivision can be effected differently by local markets.
I'm now offering Annual Real Estate Reviews to keep you informed about the real estate market in your area. This service is complimentary and is open to anyone, whether you are a past client or not. My goal is to keep you informed about home activity in your state, county, zip code, and subdivision. Here's the value: you receive up to date market information about your area at no cost.
It only takes about 15-20 minutes to go over the review, and we can discuss over the phone or in person over a cup of coffee. Here is some of what you can expect:
